On our recent trip to Utah & Idaho I stopped and snapped some more photos, trying to get several in Idaho Falls that I only had daytime shots of. Here is the night shot of the
Evergreen Gables. I asked the night clerk how it was & she said she remembered the motel being there since she was a kid & she wouldn't say how old she was. I would place it in the late 50's/early 60's. She also said once construction on the highway in front of the motel is finished, the owners will look at getting the tree neon fixed.
I learned that the
Paris Cafe is closed, so that sign will probably not be around much longer.
Downtown Idaho Falls has some very nice signage, but very little is lit at night. Probably the big attraction in neon is the swirl on the
Willard Arts Center. I understand that this is part of the original marquee. Here are the day & night shots.
Next is Ford's Bar, opened in 1906 and is the oldest bar in Idaho. The sign is from the 60's
Of course, who could forget the lovable Scotty's that adorns the top of this wonderful blog?
That's all for now. I'll get some more posted this weekend. I have lots more Idaho as well as several Utah photos to get put up. If you can't wait, you can check my Flickr set in the left gutter.
