Welcome to Safety Saturdays! We will be going through Sportsmanlike Driving, third edition. Why? Because 1955 can be a scary dangerous place. So grab your book and follow along....
Hi, I'm Dwayne and this is my steady, Barb. I call her my Lovely Steady. Automotive safety is important to everyone, you, me, Barb. We'll be guiding you through Sportsmanlike Driving. Barb will start off, I need to turn around, since I'm driving.
Barb: Cars, cars, cars. It seems that almost every other family on the street has a car. They say that the current rate of automobile registration is at a rate of 3-4 million a year. Wow, where are we gonna park all those cars?
Dwayne: I don't know, sweetie. But I do know that I'm gonna be saving my money for a car, that way I won't end up having to fight my folks and sister to see who gets the wheels on Saturday night!
Barb: Yeah, that would be keen. But, you know, Dwayne, owning a car is a big responsibility. I know my dad is always teaching me about safety.
Dwayne: That's right, Barb. Next week we'll talk about traffic accidents and traffic safety. Until then, always drive like a sportsman!
I'm laughing and crying at the same time. Laughing because it's literally
impossible to know what you're going to come up with next. Crying that you
have this much free time....
